The introduction of managed healthcare in South Africa was aimed at the reduction of medical costs, which were increasing at a high rate for the past few years, particularly so in a private healthcare industry. Managed healthcare is a system of healthcare delivery, which ensures that costs effective quality care is provided to patients.
